About Me

Stefanos Dimitrakopoulos graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2004 and completed his specialization in Psychiatry at the 1st University Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2013, while from 2011 to 2013 he was a member of the Early Intervention Clinic team at Aeginition Hospital.

From 2013 to 2022, he participated as a scientific collaborator of the 1st University Psychiatric Clinic of Aeginition Hospital in the Athens study of First Episode Psychosis and in research protocols such as "Detection of Interactions between Genetic and Environmental Risk Factors in Patients with First Episode Psychosis."

He trained at the Melbourne Neuropsychiatry Center of the University of Melbourne in neuroimaging of schizophrenia, having received a research fellowship titled "Greek-Australian Fellowship in Neuropsychiatry." He has completed postgraduate studies in "Human Genetics" at the University of Thessaly (2019) and his doctoral thesis at the Medical School of the University of Athens on cognitive deficits in patients with first episode psychosis (2022).

His work has been awarded at the 26th and 27th Panhellenic Psychiatry Conferences.

He served as a Military Doctor from 2004 to 2025.

He participates in the publication of foreign language and Greek articles and books (>30), making presentations at Greek and international conferences.

Currently, he is the Scientific Director of the Early Intervention Unit for Psychosis PNOES Ath, EPAPSY (since 2023), while maintaining his private practice (since 2014).
